JFK Assassination: Pointing Fingers

Hello and welcome back theorists! Just in case you forgot, last post we dove into the assassination of former president John F Kennedy, and just how believable the event is.

For this post, however, we are going to be talking about something not mentioned in the last post: who could've done it?

We all know the government, more specifically the CIA, hides a lot of shady stuff, and does a lot of shady stuff. Undoubtedly. But could they have assassinated their own president? I know, I know, stay with me though. Honestly the idea doesn't sound too far out there.

Let's break it down and start with Why the CIA could've wanted to kill Kennedy.
A possible CIA motive was that after the failed Bay of Pigs invasion into Cuba, the CIA underwent personnel changes, at the hand of Kennedy, which may have upset them Kennedy also  accepted responsibility for the invasion but behind closed doors completely blamed the CIA
Also during that Bay of Pigs invasion, Kennedy refused to offer additional US Military support, despite the CIA offering an umbrella of air protection. The explicit use of the word umbrella, unlocked one controversial wrinkle to the CIA theory. This wrinkle, which was popular in conspiracy circles, was that Lee Harvey Oswald acted with a potential CIA Operative, referred to as the Umbrella Man.

In the Zapruder film and other photos taken at the time of the shooting, you can see one lone man holding an open umbrella above his head. At a glance, this may seem fairly innocuous, but there were two things that make it unusual.
The first, was that it wasn't raining and despite it raining in Dallas the night before, nobody in the crowd, as far as pictures and media can tell, had an umbrella. The second, more dubious occurrence, was that face that Kennedy was struck by the first bullet at the moment his car in front of this Umbrella Man. in that moment, some believe that the Umbrella Man appeared to lift his umbrella a foot or so, both of these things in conjunction have led some to believe that the Umbrella was a single to another gunman, or that the umbrella itself, was a spy-like weapon, that could fire darts, perhaps explaining the slight hole in JFK's neck.

The Department of Defense Weapons Developer, named Charles Senseney, incredibly testified, to the the Senate Intelligence Committee, that a form of this wacky umbrella weapon exists, because he designed it.
Furthermore, there are pictures that show the umbrella closed before and after the assassination, but during the assassination the umbrella was clearly open as Kennedy passed The Umbrella Man. Also suspicious, was the fact that after the shooting, while other spectators fled the scene, this Umbrella Man, along with another man, sat down next to each other on the curb, seemingly, undisturbed.
This man was man named Louie Steven Witt, who came forward to the Senate Committee, to testify, even bringing the umbrella along with him. He claimed that the umbrella was a symbol of protest to JFK's father, Joseph Kennedy. As odd as this may seem, throughout history, many people both in England and America, have used Umbrellas as a symbol of protest.
So while this case is still a mystery, it in no way slows or stops the speculation and theories surrounding this. And all for good reason, in my opinion. I do not believe that Oswald acted alone and just like 70% of other Americans, I believe there was a larger conspiracy involved in all of this.

Do you?

  1. I like this post, but I think it would gain some power if you laid out SEVERAL of the theories for blame. I LOVE the umbrella man stuff, and especially the info/picture of the actual Umbrella Gun. Very far out. Other places (like the whole Bay of Pigs thing) could use some "fleshing out"--give us the back story a bit here.

You are using your paragraph breaks to great effect. Your sentence structure starts out rocky, but smooths out as you "hit your stride."
